Making a 2026 Resolution that Counts!

For some reason, the people of our culture have decided that making a resolution on the first day of each new year somehow signifies something more than making a resolution on any other given day. It is lent a mythical power that transcends “less important” promises made to self on the other 364 rotational cycles of our planet. Forbes Health has conducted several surveys on this issue and discovered that every New Year’s resolution has a lifespan of around 3.4 months (on average) before they disappear into the vast landfill of long forgotten promises to self.

I totally get it. Been there, done that.

And yet, there are some resolutions that have eternal lifetimes and never run out.

The Word of God calls these vows, and sometimes covenants. While a vow or a covenant does not inherently offer any more human power than any other resolution on any given day, it has something that transcends mere human effort. A resolution taken before God lends the protective power of the Lord Master to the resolution and thereby becomes a covenant promise – a resolution with actual grit.

Yet, sadly, according to the Word of God, humans have a pathetically sorry record of keeping their part of the covenant promises – even with their Creator! Yet it is true that each covenant with God comes not only with the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, but also each of these resolutions is accompanied by eternal consequences.

So, beloved Templar, allow me to suggest that perhaps if there is any resolution worth making at all, perhaps the resolution should be made not just between yourself and yourself, but between you and your awesome God! In that way, you may actually have eternal success at that essentially important thing which you know you need to be doing, whatever it may be. Make your resolution via a sacred covenant with the Power Who created the universe rather than just the far lesser power of the one who stares back at you in the mirror each morning!

And with that seed of wisdom from the Most High, Claudia and I would like to wish each of you and your families the best, the brightest, the most extravagant and beautiful new year of any trip around the nearest star you have ever taken! We wish each of you good health, joy, and happiness as a Templar Soldier of the Cross, and the extravagant blessings that can come only through selfless service to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

All of our love and all of our blessings as the main sequence G type star called Sol rises across the Sunshine State on 2026!
