All devotionals appear each day throughout the year on our website—three new devotionals per day. These three volumes of 1,098 messages required about 15 years to write as we wove them in and out of life, other books, and various projects. Joy in the Word
There was once a great kingdom in which dwelt a very poor man. He lived a thoroughly pathetic existence, nearly starving and begging for meager leftovers just to stay alive. He daily fed from the leavings of the kingdom’s scraps and at night shivered in a thin blanket, fighting off the vermin. And yet, this man had a buried secret treasure hidden beneath a rock in his filthy floor. There, in a tattered and stained envelope, was a decree from his King made out to him personally. Years ago, the man received the envelope from a messenger and, having no time or care to open it, he secreted it away and let it lie, not even knowing that the decree had made him a prince of the Royal Court with all the attendant privileges!
Many Christians live lives just like that. They keep their decree of life, joy, unlimited freedom, and unimaginable wealth tucked away and gathering dust, instead of pulling it out and actually reading the declaration of infinite wealth, power, and position it affords to each of them. That decree, made out personally to them from the Greatest King of All Ages, is His Holy and inerrant Word – the greatest of all treasures in history that can be found anywhere on Earth.
Said King David in Psalm 119:162, “I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.”
And so it is – a vast and unending treasure that opens up the Royal Kingdom. A treasure that makes known your personal acceptance by a Lord Master Who has grafted you into His royal lineage, Who loves you and beckons your presence into His kingdom’s glorious precincts on this very day!
Give up feeding on the world’s scraps, abandon the slums of life, and rise and walk to the Kingdom of God right now – today – and enter into the joy of the Master through His Word!
